Principal Investigators (PI’s)
The applicants are established experts in the fields of drug delivery, blood-brain barrier function, receptor-mediated transport, or neurovascular regulation

Martin Lauritzen
Professor
Department of Neuroscience, University of Copenhagen, Blegdamsvej 3b, 2200 Copenhagen N
Martin Lauritzen is an MD who works with neurological patients and clinical studies of the brain in sepsis and cognitive decline. His translational works concerns brain activity, blood flow and energy use and the blood-brain barrier. Martin is founding member of the steering committee for COSBID, a large multi-center study of patients with acutely injured brain tissue (www.cosbid.org). Martin is currently also one of the team leaders of the Centre for Healthy Aging, and now the Director of RIBBDD.

Torben Moos is an expert in studies of physiological and pathological BBB models in vivo. Torben heads the neurobiology group at Department of Medicine and Health Technology, Aalborg University (AAU) and is the founder and leader of a center for development of targeted therapeutics in treatment of glioblastoma multiforme at AAU.

Birger Brodin
Professor
Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Pharmacy, Universitetsparken 2, 2100 Copenhagen Ø
Birger Brodin is heading the research group "Drug Transporters in ADME" at the Department of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Kristian Strømgaard
Professor
Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology, University of Copenhagen, Universitetsparken 2, 2100 Copenhagen Ø
Kristian Strømgaard is Professor in Chemical Biology and Director of Center for Biopharmaceuticals. The overall focus of the Strømgaard Lab is studies of protein-protein interactions with putative therapeutic relevance. The research combines tools from chemistry and biology to provide molecular-level insight into the functions and mechanisms, and to develop peptide-based inhibitors of these interactions.
